Helping Women Now ®

Recognized as one of the leading breast cancer organizations in the world, the National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF) is Helping Women Now® by providing early detection, education, and support services to those affected by breast cancer.

In 1991, Janelle Hail founded the National Breast Cancer Foundation with the help of her husband and family. A breast cancer survivor herself, Janelle has made it her mission to educate other women about breast cancer and the importance of early detection.

NBCF was founded to fill in the gaps of cancer care, ensuring every woman has the access and information she needs to get through every step of her breast cancer journey.

Why Breast Cancer?

Breast cancer is one of the leading health crises for women in the United States

1 in 8 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in her lifetime. There is currently no known cure for breast cancer, and its early diagnosis is critical to survival.

Women who have screening mammograms have a lower chance of dying from breast cancer than women who do not have screening mammograms.

*This stat is from National Cancer Institute?

However, many simply cannot afford the cost of screening tests.

These women are at a significantly higher risk of dying from breast cancer if later diagnosed.
